A big warm hello, my name is Nat & I'm the dreamer and creator behind TRAKta.
When I was a little girl my mum let me choose my own outfits & wear whatever I wanted, when all of my friends mums where still deciding for them what they should wear.
I was a shy country girl, but through my clothes I could express myself without having to say too much. This freedom of expression helped me find my confidence & I fell in love with fashion.
I was always very particular about what I wanted to wear & definitely had my "favourites" that I thought were cool. Mum couldn't wash them fast enough because I wanted to wear them again & again & again.
My nan was amazing, she could make a dress just from a picture I gave her, using newspaper to make the pattern. She taught me how to sew.
So when it came time to choose my career, fashion design was the obvious choice for me. I studied at the Whitehouse Institute in Sydney and began my career in fashion at age 18.
Then when the pandemic hit & I was made redundant, I decided it was the right time to stop building other peoples dreams and build my own...TRAKta was born!
I spend most of my days thinking about design in one way or another and get inspiration from just about anywhere and anything. For me, TRAKta is so much more than just a brand or my business, it's my way of life. It allows me to do what I love, and I honestly couldn't imagine doing anything else.
